Practice

Tabor has worked on a variety of litigation matters, concentrating on complex, high-risk litigation. He has represented both regional and national companies, including major financial institutions in both federal and state court. He has also represented Fortune 500 companies in a variety of litigation. Tabor has also represented the University of Alabama in a variety of high-profile litigation.

Highlights

* Represented The University of Alabama in Huntsville in an intellectual property dispute over PEGylation technology and helped UAH obtain a $25 million settlement.

* Represented UAB and the UAB Research Foundation in a patent dispute relating to antiviral compounds used to treat Hepatitis B and helped UAB obtain a settlement with a minimum value of $15 million.

* Currently representing The University of Alabama in a trademark dispute with sports artist Daniel A. Moore that has been the subject of press coverage by numerous news outlets including The New York Times, NPR and ESPN.

* Currently representing a New York-based, private equity firm in litigation relating to a leveraged buyout of an Alabama company.

* Currently representing UAB in a trade secret/ fraud case relating to an electrosurgical device. 

* Currently representing an inmate in a capital appeal pro bono.

Community Involvement

Tabor is an active member of the Phoenix Club of Birmingham and is also involved with the Birmingham Athletic Partnership.
