Starnes Labor & Employment Lawyers Provide Advice on Employee Free Choice Act

Our labor and employment lawyers are helping clients take a proactive stance to this much anticipated law, which will bring about a major change in the relationship between employers and their employees.  Congress is expected to vote later this Spring.  If passed, President Obama will certainly sign.  The EFCA will replace secret ballot elections with a card signing system as the means for employees to decide if they want to be represented by a union.  Employers should make sure their employees know that signing a union card will have much greater significance than it does under current law.  It will be the equivalent of a vote for the union.  Supervisors need to know what they can and can not say to employees about unions.  We can assist clients with training designed to help them stay union free.

The recoveries, verdicts, favorable outcomes, and testimonials described on this site are not an indication of future results. Every case is different, and regardless of what friends, family, or other individuals may say about what a case is worth, each case must be evaluated on its own facts and circumstances as they apply to the law. The valuation of a case depends on the facts, the injuries, the jurisdiction, the venue, the witnesses, the parties, and the testimony, among other factors. Furthermore, no representation is made that the quality of the legal services to be performed is greater than the quality of legal services performed by other lawyers.
